The Working Group on Migration Policy (WGMP) seeks to place on the agenda of the Commissions on Migration, Human Rights, Children and Adolescents and Legislative Studies of the Mexican Senate, the urgency of guaranteeing the human rights of migrant children and those subject to international protection in Mexico. The agenda includes adjusting the Migration Law to the General Law on Children and Adolescents.

This reality afflicts thousands of children and adolescents who are migrants and subject to international protection while in transit or living in Mexico. The best interest of children is NOT recognized above any migratory status and their human rights are not protected.

Given this reality and with the aim of influencing the positive resolution of the ruling on the initiative of migrant children, the WGMP launched this communication campaign to inform and raise awareness among various actors about the importance of adjusting the Migration Law to the General Law on Children and Adolescents in order to guarantee their rights and best interests.
