The legal team is comprised of the Asylum Department, the Legal Clinic for Immigration and Identity Documentation (CJDMI) and the Advocacy Unit.
Depending on your needs and the agency’s expertise, the legal team may offer assistance at three different levels:
Orientation
Provides general information about regulations, rights and procedures
Consulting
In addition to information, support is provided when preparing briefs to access rights
Representation
After analyzing a case, the legal team develops the strategies on how to file the necessary legal recourse on your behalf.

Asylum Department
- Request recognition of refugee status
- Secure Mexican citizenship
Legal Clinic for Immigration and Identity Documentation (CJDMI)
- Secure immigration documents
- Provides support in paying fines and filing paperwork
(provided resources are available and the support criteria are met)
- Provides support in obtaining identification documents
(birth certificates for the children born in Mexico and foreign parents)
Defense Area
- Immigration Detention
- Support is provided for human rights violations to persons due to their foreigner status
- Strategic Litigation
- Referral of matters to pro-bono network lawyers who practice other areas of law
